Christian poem: What will you do?

What will you do?
by Christy Brown

Suspended between Heaven and Hell,
I'm forgotten, by the ones who claimed to love.
Hearing the crowd, seeing them shout,
I listen for the angels up above.

Abandoned and alone,
Now all my power's gone.
I think back upon the mercy
The mercy that was shown.

Was it worth this price?
I offered up to man the Divine.

Unchained, freed from your bonds,
You are washed, if you choose, not a spot.
Refuled, recharged, you are supplied with life
where there was not.

This is my service to you.
With this exchange, what will you do?

What will you do with life?
What will you do with plenty?
Will you feed the poor?
Will you give to the needy?

What will you do with love?
What will you do with mercy?
What will you do with blessings and honor
And access to HIS glory?

With this exchange, What will you do?
Will you give back a life? or two?
Ten? Twenty? or a hundred fold?
You alone know. "What, oh what, will you do?

What will you do?
I made my choice, now you...............

An aria from JS Bach cantata BWV 163

Music by J.S. Bach (English translation of librettist)

ARIA

Take Thou me, Thine own to be!
Take my will in full subjection,
I am Thine for Thy direction,
Nothing Thee from me dividing,
Let my spirit be abiding,
Ever, evermore with Thee.
Take Thou me, Thine own to be!

Christian poem: Heaven

Heaven

There is a place...

where houses are golden
where men are emboldened

There is a place...

where trees are aflame
where women are game

There is a place
where the sun shines
all the day
where people climb
what may

There is a place...
